Audiology is one of the field of rehabilitation sciences that studies the hearing and balance system. This field deals with the educational and research topics of the latest scientific achievements in the fields of diagnosis, hearing protection and prevention of hearing disorders and balance and timely rehabilitation of hearing impaired people. History:
In Iran, the field of audiology was first established in the former National University (now Shahid Beheshti) in 1973 at the associate level. Since 1976, the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences (now Iran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services), which was directly under the supervision of the Ministry of Science at that time, has been recruiting undergraduate students.
